REVOLUTION Medicines is an exciting, early stage biotechnology company that discovers and develops innovative drugs for cancer patients directed toward frontier oncology and immune-oncology targets.  The company draws inspiration from evolution and natural products that are inherently rich with biological function. REVOLUTION Medicines deploys an innovative toolkit including REVBLOCKS™, an integrated suite of rapid, agile, and modular synthesis methodologies applied to simple chemical “building blocks,” and the REVEAL™ computational platform, which uses evolution’s lessons to inform selection of chemical scaffolds guide drug design for non-classical drug targets. As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.

 

The Opportunity:

As the lead for Safety Pharmacology and Toxicology, you will oversee the non-clinical safety pharmacology and toxicology for the Company’s programs at the discovery and preclinical development stage, as well as in to early stage clinical development. Specifically, you will:

  • Be a critical member of the leadership of the emergent Development Sciences organization.

  • Be a key member of the multi-disciplinary research project teams.

  • Be accountable to the Head of Development Sciences, and the Research and Development Team Leads for performing cutting-edge science to understand the potential and observed toxicities of our molecules, and model these in preclinical settings.

  • Independently design and execute experimental strategies using cellular and molecular immunological techniques to investigate drug and target-related toxicities and mechanisms of action.

  • Manage, analyze and archive experimental data, and present experimental results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • Be accountable for the oversight of key CROs.

  • Be accountable for the preparation of documents for regulatory filings and interactions with partners and collaborators.

  • Establish collaborations with leading academic research groups.

  • Be accountable for toxicology input to the Research and Development governance structure.

 

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent in cancer biology, cell biology or a related discipline, with at least three years of relevant industry experience in toxicology for Senior Scientist level or five years for Associate Director level.

  • Demonstrable record of strong leadership and teamwork.

  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications, preferably in the field of cancer biology or related field.

  • Experience of managing CROs.

  • Extensive hands on experience in relevant laboratory techniques.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist.

  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to deploy innovative approaches and technologies in a high energy environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.

Revolution Medicines has two preclinical-stage oncology programs directed against SHP2 and 4EBP1, in addition to two undisclosed discovery-stage programs. We are looking to build our clinical development group as our lead programs progress.

As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists and healthcare professionals who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.

 

The Opportunity:

This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who has innate leadership and organizational skills, technical expertise in clinical oncology drug development in an industry setting, and experience in organizing and running early-stage clinical trials. As the Director/Senior Director of Clinical Operations, you will be responsible for the design of, and accountable for the execution of, Revolution Medicines early-stage clinical studies. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring feasibility in clinical trial design
  • Execution of clinical trials, including CRO selection and site selection

  • Supervision of CROs

  • Clinical trial budgets and timelines

You will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary development team and responsible for your own sub-team. There is the opportunity to build a clinical team under you within the company. Initially, the position reports directly to the President of Research and Development.

 

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • BSc or MSc degree or other suitable qualification with relevance to the field of clinical operations.

  • At least 7 years of industry experience, preferably the majority in oncology.

  • Hands-on experience of running early-stage clinical trials within an industry environment.

  • Experience of clinical trial operations outside the USA is desirable, but not essential.

  • A demonstrable record of strong leadership and teamwork.

  • Direct experience of managing clinical CROs.

  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to deploy innovative approaches and technologies in a high energy environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to act as an excellent ambassador for Revolution Medicines in interactions with key opinion leaders, scientific advisors, corporate partners and, where necessary, investors.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.

The Opportunity:

As a member of the cancer pharmacology team you will:

  • Be a critical contributor to the cancer biology organization and multi-disciplinary research project teams.

  • Integrate a deep knowledge of oncogenic signaling pathways into the design and execution of experiments related to the discovery of novel anti-cancer agents, including but not restricted to:

  • Novel oncology pathway inhibitors

  • Combination strategies

  • Preclinical pharmacodynamic studies

  • Be accountable for the conduct of cutting-edge tumor biology research, integrating knowledge from oncology, cell biology and human genetics, to support development of novel therapies using innovative technologies and approaches.

  • Establish and manage relationships with external collaborators in cancer biology field in basic and clinical sciences.

  • Manage and analyze experimental data and present results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • The post-holder may be required to manage or supervise other scientific or technical personnel.

 

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Ph.D. degree in pharmacology, oncology, cell biology or a related discipline, with at least 1-3 years of post-doctoral and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in cancer discovery biology from target selection to late preclinical evaluation.

  • Deep expertise in oncogenic signaling pathways is important. Expertise in the PI3K/mTOR pathway would be an advantage.

  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications.

  • Demonstrated experience as project leader of multidisciplinary project team.

  • Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.

  • Experience working with external collaborators in cancer biology field in basic and/or clinical science.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Opportunity:

As a key player in our biology team, you will:

  • Integrate a deep knowledge of tumor immunology and immunotherapy to support discovery and development of novel immuno-oncology therapies

  • Use immunology techniques to perform cutting-edge studies, in vitro and in vivo, to interrogate key scientific questions about established or candidate drug targets and therapeutic mechanisms

  • Independently design and execute experimental strategies, using cellular and molecular immunological techniques, to investigate target biology and therapeutic mechanisms of action in in vivo immuno-oncology models.

  • Collaborate with biochemists, cell biologists and pharmacologists to generate novel insights that fuel drug development as a member of a cross-functional project team.

  • Manage and analyze experimental data and present experimental results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • Establish collaborations with leading academic research groups in the tumor immunology field.

  • Represent REVOLUTION Medicines with external organizations.

 

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Ph.D. degree in immunology, cancer biology or a related discipline with demonstrable track record of excellence in tumor immunology and/or immunotherapy (Scientist I). Post-doctoral, or relevant industry experience, (Scientist II) will be considered but not necessary.

  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications, in the field of tumor immunology.

  • Previous experience with in vivo tumor growth assays is required. Knowledge of models that interrogate and modulate cells and mediators of the innate and adaptive immune system would be an advantage.

  • Extensive hands on experience in ‘state of the art’ immunology techniques including multi-parameter flow cytometric analyses, cytokine analysis, functional assays, imaging, cell biology and molecular biology. Knowledge of manipulation of human PBMCs and functional assays with human immune cells would be an advantage.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist with a desire to continue in a laboratory-focused role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.
